Who needs to tryout?

Tryouts are held for Competitive and the High Performance (HP) Teams. If you plan to play or participate in either our "Young Maverick" or "Spikes" Development Programs then you don't need to tryout. Listed below are the teams the Mavericks hold tryouts for:

What's the difference between High Performance and Competitive?

Playing on a High Performance Team means being 100% committed to achieving your goals and aspirations in volleyball. The time, energy, and financial commitment are the highest in the club as HP Players work to achieve their goal of playing at the College, University, Olympic or Professional levels. Competitive teams have a substantial time and energy commitment as teams practice twice per week and travel once a month to tournaments across Ontario. The program runs from September to May culminating in Provincial and National Championships. For more details about the Competitive Program click here.

What if I'm not sure which level to tryout for?

If you're not sure which team to tryout for, we suggest you reach for the top and sign up for the High Performance Tryouts (if available at your age level). You'll get a chance to find out all about the program and determine if you have the right attitude, skills and commitment level to become a High Performance Athlete.

What does it cost to tryout?

The tryout fee is $20 if you register and pay online, or $25 if you pay at the door. With your tryout fee you'll get a Maverick T-shirt!

Where and When are the tryouts?

The tryout schedule varies from boys to girls and is listed below. Athletes should plan on arriving 30 minutes prior to indicated start time to allow time for check in. To get a map to the location, simply click on the name of the school.
