The following THREE programs will be offered:

Spikes on the Beach

Spikes on the Beach has returned to Ottawa! This Ontario Volleyball Program is designed to introduce boys and girls to the fundamentals of beach volleyball in a fun and exciting environment. With a big focus on FUN the athletes will learn the basics of beach volleyball using volleyballs designed for kids and playing a modified version of beach volleyball in a fun and entertaining learning environment.

Join us and you will receive:

A VERY cool limited edition OVERKILL t-shirt
7 weeks of instruction
prizes for everyone at our Jamboree on the last day of the program

Who: For boys in girls in grades 4 and 5 (2006/07 school year)

When: Sundays from 4:45 to 5:45 pm for 7 weeks starting June 24th and ending August 19th (no Spikes on July 1st or August 5th). Unfortunately there will be no re-scheduling for days lost because of inclement weather.

Young Guns on the Beach!

In Young Guns on the Beach grade 6 and 7 students will get a 30 minute skills clinic before heading to the courts to play in 4 on 4, 3 on 3, and then 2 on 2 "King and Queen of the Beach" leagues. Each week will focus on a different skill used on the beach ranging from 'peeling' to 'pokeying'. Athletes will then be paired up with different players to earn points towards the title of King and Queen of the Beach.

Athletes will receive:

Prizes for our top three King and Queens of the Beach

Who: For boys and girls in grades 6 and 7 (2006/07 school year)

When: Sundays from 4:00 to 6:00 pm for 7 weeks starting June 24th and ending August 19th (no training on July 1st or August 5th). Unfortunately there will be no re-scheduling for days lost because of inclement weather.

Maverick Beach League

The Maverick Beach League is a competitive 2 on 2 league for boys and girls in grades 8 to 11. Teams will spend the first week being tiered before competition starts in the second week. Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place in each tier. Teams can expect to play four sets each night. Teams competing in the Ontario Volleyball Beach League will not lose their standing if absent because of a competition. A Team consists of two registered players although spares may be used throughout the session if required. Spares cannot be used during playoffs.

Who: Boys and Girls in grades 8 to 11 (2006/07 school year)

When: Sundays from 6 pm to dark for 7 weeks starting June 24th and ending August 19th (no training on July 1st or August 5th). Unfortunately there will be no re-scheduling for days lost because of inclement weather. The league will be finished before Madawaska Volleyball Camp (www.madawaskavolleyballcamp.com)
